LIGHTHOUSE BEACH

UPDATE REPORT

With the Memorial Day 2013 weekend, access to Robert Moses State Beach Field Five has been re-opened. The adjacent Lighthouse Beach area which is part of the federal Fire Island National Seashore is also open but access is both more difficult and Chief Ranger’s and the Park’s Superintendent's arbitrary, random and discriminatory order suppressing the traditional clothing optional use of Lighthouse Beach and selected other areas of Fire Island is currently being enforced. Signs are posted and Rangers are now the textile police and checking if genitalia are covered. Rangers are also handing out the following flyer:

LIGHTHOUSE BEACH UPDATE REPORT

MEMORIAL DAY / SUMMER 2013

In response to the letters complaining about his sudden change in policy written to the Park Superintendent, he has been sending this form letter out. Here it is in it’s entirety:

Paragraph 3

The users of Lighthouse Beach will NOT let this absurd order stand. It is being fought by the Long Island Travasuns, Vita-Nuda, SaveLighthouseBeach, other beach user groups, AANR the American Association of Nude Recreation and TNS The Naturist Society all n co-ordination with and co-operation with NAC the Naturist Action Committee.

The factoids that Stoller uses as justification are just that factoids: that is, FALSE FACTS!
